I'm planning a fairly large move this fall, and the biggest challenge so far has been choosing the right movers. Every company I contact tells me they offer great service, but it's difficult to know who is actually reliable until after the move is over. I'll be transporting furniture, electronics, and quite a few fragile items, so I don't want to risk working with a company that cuts corners. For those who have already moved recently, what questions did you ask before making your decision? Did you request an in-home estimate, compare insurance options, or pay attention to something else that helped you avoid problems? I'd love to hear what worked for you because I want this move to be as smooth as possible.
